AFENYO-MARKIN ACCUSES NDC OF REBRANDING NPP’S PROJECTS AND MARKETING THEM AS THEIR OWN
The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has accused
the Mahama administration of “rebranding the NPP’s achievement and marketing
them as their own.”
Speaking during the NPP’s National Delegates Conference on
Saturday, July 19, he said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a
failure.
He said that “The message is clear, the NDC is a failure,
Ghana deserves better.”
Afenyo-Markin further said that the New Patriotic Party is
not a broken party despite its defeat in the 2024 general election.
He says that with unity, the part will bounce back stronger.
He said, “Let’s move with one voice. We’re in a season that demands sober
reflection and radical unity.
“This is a time to rebuild, reconnect with the grassroots,
re-engage with the base and reconnect with Ghanaians with a bold new vision for
the future. With unity, we become a force; unity doesn’t mean uniformity, but
loyalty to a shared purpose.
The NPP is holding its National Delegates Conference today,
Saturday, July 19, to consider and vote on over 50 consolidated motions.
The event, under the theme “Rebuilding Together with our
Values,” is taking place at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.
Chairman of the
Planning Committee, Joseph Osei Owusu, “In all, we have about a little over 50
motions. You may have one amendment, which will have about 50 proposed
amendments.
“So, what the motions are doing is to consolidate the
various issues that come around, and the members will have to vote on those
motions,” Osei Owusu explained.
He further revealed that the motions have been compiled into
a booklet, which has already been previewed by the party’s National Executive
Committee. The documents are expected to be distributed to delegates before the
voting session begins.
